Family Therapist Corinne Scholtz MFT
Once a native of New York, I decided to move to Florida to pursue year-round sunshine, although I also had to learn to handle the occasional hurricane!
I also decided to challenge myself by enrolling in a Ph.D. program in Family Therapy at Nova University in Ft. Lauderdale. I am presently working on my dissertation which is focused on sexuality, self-esteem, and identity development in ethnic adolescent girls in middle school.
I have experience working with children, adolescents and adults and recently with pre- and post- adoption families. In addition to my family therapy caseload, I work as a Career Advisor for undergraduate and graduate students at Nova University.
Whew! As you can tell I have many interests and a great deal of energy and enthusiasm for building relationships with a wide variety of people. In addition, I have a curiosity about the feminist perspective and the way in which young women come to create a self-identity given the culture and society in which she lives.
In addition to my academic interests, some of my favorite authors are Gary Zukav, Eckhert Tolle, Wayne Dyer and more. My favority places are Big Sur California, Mt. Washington Valley in New Hampshire and Washington, DC. I have a deep appreciation for nature, enjoy kayaking camping and hiking. I also have an interest in hot yoga and Buddhism, and of course one of my favorite places is the beach!
Best regards,
Corinne E.Scholtz, MFT
