People often ask me what's it like being a therapist. I'd thought I'd share a few of the challenges I feel all counselors face. If you're thinking of a career in counseling, you may find it interesting.

Thanks to Vivian for posting the last two questions. If you have a question use the email address at the bottom:

Do you ever get nervous in your work?

What is the hardest thing about being a therapist?

Do therapists have to "like"; a client in order to effectively work with that person?

Would a therapist refer a patient to another professional if the therapist cannot relate or get attuned enough to a particular patient?

Have a question?

Drop me a line at with your question. While I cannot promise to reply to all, each email will be read. Those that are representative or especially interesting to our readers will be posted.
