Drama with Comedic Scenes - Hollywood, 2005
This story centers around two sisters Maggie (Cameron Diaz) and Rose Feller (Toni Collette), whose failure to look at the real issues in their lives has finally caught up to them. They have begun to ask who am I and where am I going. Even at 68, Grandma Ella (Shirley MacLaine) demonstrates that we never stop facing our issues or stop growing. Our willingness to face our fears even at this age is rewarded. All terms related to this movie: |

Mystery, Drama and Romance - Hitchcock, 1945
The theme of this movie is that anyone--even the normal and well educated like Dr. Petersen (Ingrid Bergman)--can suddenly find herself under a spell. A young psychiatrist at the Green Manors sanitarium has an interesting professional and personal encounter with the new Director (Gregory Peck). Is it love at first sight, or mental illness? It'll take skill, patience, and several unorthodox practices for our heroine to save her patient - but can she save herself too? All terms related to this movie: |

Drama with Comedic Scenes - British, 1991
Nina (Juliet Stevenson) surmounts the grief she suffers after the death of her beloved husband Jamie (Alan Rickman). As much as some people refuse to acknowledge, we can't fully heal in isolation. We are social beings. Although this movie sounds heavy as it centers on grief, I think you'll find enough redeeming qualities and comedic moments to keep you feeling contained. But you let me know and be sure to put your vote in for how activating it was for you. All terms related to this movie: |
