"Can I trust a therapist from the APA directory?"

The American Psychological Association directory contains the names of hundreds of psychologists. In order to be included one must have a high level of credentials and most therapists listed have doctorates.

However, the question remains whether given these standards, can one trust that a therapist is competent.

"How do I recognize a bad therapist?"

It’s not always easy to recognize an incompetent therapist from the get go – particularly for specialty areas like group therapy.
